Firebase Pricing Explained

Understanding the cost of your app's backend.

The Spark Plan (Free Tier)

Your project starts on the Spark Plan, which is **completely free**. It is designed to give you everything you need to get started and grow.

The free tier includes generous monthly allowances for all the essential services your store needs, including the database (Firestore) and image storage (Cloud Storage). For a new e-commerce site, it is **highly unlikely** you will exceed these free limits.

  • **Firestore Database:** Thousands of product listings and customer orders per month for free.
  • **Cloud Storage:** 5 GB of storage for free - enough for thousands of high-quality product images.
The Blaze Plan (Pay-as-you-go)

You only need to consider this plan if your app becomes extremely popular and grows beyond the free Spark Plan limits.

Even on this plan, you still get the same free allowance every month. You only pay for what you use **above** the free limit. The costs are very low (e.g., fractions of a cent per thousand database reads).

To enable services like Cloud Storage, Firebase asks you to upgrade to the Blaze Plan to have a payment method on file, but you will NOT be charged unless your usage exceeds the free tier.
